23 year old Michael and 24 year old Anastasia first wowed Australian audiences when they won the East Coast Classic in Sydney in 2005. The following year they went on to represent Australia at the 2006 IDSF World Championship.

Michael’s dancing background includes 12 years of Latin American and Ballroom dance training in England, Russia and USA. He won his first Australian Championship at age 15. He also enjoys basketball, tennis, bowling, skiing and swimming.

Anastasia’s background is similar, with 16 years experience in both Latin American and Ballroom styles in Russia and England. She is also an accredited dance coach.

They crashed the international ballroom scene by winning the Amateur Latin Rising Star Championship in 2007 followed by a placing in the British Open.

No Australian couple had achieved this over the last 13 years.

Since teaming up in 2005, Italian born Mirko and Australian born Nuria have been based in Rome and have travelled the world training and competing among the best.
